A Mango Sandwich with a Wisconsin Bee Co. Twist
At Wisconsin Bee Company, we love giving classic recipes a local twist—especially when it means showcasing the flavor-packed, all-natural goodness of our bestselling products. Whether you're packing a lunch for a hike, enjoying a weekend picnic, or just need something light but flavorful on a hot day, this sweet and spicy mango sandwich checks all the boxes.

We took inspiration from a National Honey Board favorite and gave it that signature Wisconsin spin using our Wildflower Honey and our Jalapeño Honey Mustard, both made in small batches right here in the Badger State.
Let’s dive into the details!
The Sauce That Steals the Show
This Sweet & Spicy Mango Sauce is what sets this sandwich apart. It blends the tropical flavor of ripe mango with the floral notes of our Wildflower Honey, and finishes with the tangy heat of Jalapeño Honey Mustard. It’s sweet, savory, and just spicy enough to make your taste buds dance.
Wisconsin Sweet & Spicy Mango Sauce
Ingredients:
2 cups ripe mangoes, chopped
2 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Optional: a bit of diced jalapeño if you want more heat
Instructions:
In a saucepan, combine all ingredients except the mango over medium-low heat. Stir until well blended.
Add mango and optional jalapeño and simmer for 5–7 minutes until soft and slightly thickened.
Blend with an immersion blender or food processor until smooth.
Cool and store in a jar in the fridge for up to a week.
Build the Ultimate Sweet & Spicy Sandwich
Once the sauce is ready, it’s sandwich time.
You’ll need:
2 slices of multigrain or hearty rye bread
1/4 lb cracked pepper turkey (or sub roasted chicken)
Sliced cucumbers
Shredded carrots
A handful of baby spinach or arugula
2–3 Tbsp of your homemade mango sauce
Toast the bread if you like, slather on the mango sauce, and pile up your ingredients. The result is a refreshing, spicy-sweet sandwich that’s light yet satisfying—and full of Wisconsin flavor.
Tip: Make It a Salad!
Looking to go lighter? This sauce also makes a great drizzle over grilled chicken salad with mango chunks, greens, and crunchy veggies. Just toss and enjoy!
